DON’T BE AFRAID TO ASK

In 2018, I started getting more speaking engagements, some that even required me to travel out of my state of residence at the time.

In one the speaking engagement, after my engagement that day, the organizer expressed his gratitude to me and opened up how he was skeptical about reaching out to me at first because he taught my fee would be expensive and I might not accept to speak for free.

I smiled when he said that because quite a number of people had already disclosed that to me. They refused to reach out because they thought my fee would be expensive.

Unknown to the public, virtually all the speaking engagements I honored that year were all free. Yes, free. Even the one that took me out of my state.

But why am I sharing this with you? It’s for you to learn a vital lesson in life: the importance of asking for help when you need it. The scripture says, “Ask and it shall be given you”. This saying is true, especially if you are doing something of value and you are a person of value.

What’s the difference between those I spoke at at their event for free and those I didn’t? It’s simple. Those I spoke at their event ASKED, and their request was granted. But others did not ask. And they didn’t get the result they wanted.

So, are you not making the same mistakes today? You know a person that can help you but you have refused to reach out. You know the person that has the solution you seek at hand, but you are afraid or you feel too big to ask for help.

I’m not sorry to break this news to you, your problem can’t be solved. Until you take action, you’ll not get that solution you need.

So, what should you do differently today? Go ask for the help you need.

Did you get value from this? Feel free to share your thoughts with me.

I’m Emmanuel Olatunji, the exceptional being.
