The Biggest Secret of my Success in Business

I was speaking with a friend of mine who is a lawyer some weeks ago, and she narrated her experience of job seeking to me.

She told me how companies were offering her 50k for a 9-5 job. The company that offered like 80k monthly or thereabout was at Lekki and the fare alone discouraged her from taking it.

I was marvelled when she narrated her experience to me. In the long run, she stayed back home and just work remotely, while building her skills.

When I told her I have a staff, I am currently paying 80k monthly, and he works remotely, she marvelled and said I have the fear of God to be paying that.

Another person told me how much she’s paying one of her staff who resumes work every day. The amount was not up to what I pay my staff who works completely remote.

Why am I sharing this?

When I started my business, I knew I wasn’t building a business just for myself alone.

So from the early days of my business, I started partnering with people. When I couldn’t employ staff, I would train interns, turn them into experts, and they will in turn serve the company.

I kept building like that. Even when I was still growing, I started paying people monthly. One of my partners then even told me I was losing money and all, that I should try to be doing most of the stuff myself.

While I understood his concerns and appreciated him, I knew he didn’t see what I saw. I didn’t want to build a business that will resolve around me alone. So even though I had to make a loss just so that I could get the best hands to work with me, I was doing it.

That’s the biggest secret to my business.

Today, people see me as a powerful writer and celebrate me. But do you know I am not the most powerful writer in my company?

Yes, I am not. I’ve got best hands working with me. So that I can always deliver excellently to my clients, I had to get many people onboard with me.

So, sometimes, when clients reach out to me and ask for our fee, they usually wonder why we charge the way we do, but I know that many of them don’t understand.

For instance, to get a single book produced in our company, the single book will go through at least 4 – 6 different experts who I pay before the book can be out. That’s the massive investment I put into my company.

People celebrate the results we achieve on the outside, but the level of sacrifice, work and investment are crazy. I am happy with the decision I made, and it’s paying off today.

So when you congratulate anyone publicly for their success, always know that there are some things behind the scenes that bring about the success. I’ve shared about the God factor of my business in my post last week, but this is another big secret that many may not know.

Cheers.

I’m Emmanuel, the exceptional being.
